This film has a unique and meaningful style of cinematography as much of the footage used is that of the subject of the film, Timothy Treadwell. It is such an interesting premise as we learn of his untimely and tragic fate, so seeing his life among the bears helps us to better understand his character. Since we are able to view this film from his perspective we are exposed to a raw and majestic representation of the Alaskan wilderness. The editing in this film works beautifully to intertwine Treadwell's footage and other footage, interviews, and landscape shots.

My experience watching Dog Star Man appealed to my visual sense in more ways than one. Something that stood out to me during my viewing of the film was the camera techniques that created a kind of kaleidoscope effect. This film is very frantic but I would describe it as a chaotic beauty. The director really focuses the viewers' attention on the visuals and imagery as he decides to not include any audio. Each individual who views this film Is likely to have a different interpretation of it. That is what I liked most about this film, its ambiguity when it comes to its meaning.

This film was a very interesting watch that differed from my preferred type of cinema. While I did not necessarily enjoy the film I found the visuals and animation to be very striking and eye-catching. The hand-drawn animation enhances the visuals that portray a psychedelic atmosphere. The colors in this film are vibrant bringing imagination to life. Not only did these visuals enhance its aesthetic but it also was able to enhance the narrative and themes of this film. It…

Being that this film was in a foreign language it was difficult to understand at a surface-level glance. Something that I noticed, and was beneficial to an individual who doesn't speak Japanese, is that there was repetition, with slight variations, that persisted through all four perspectives of the murder. The element that I noticed most abundantly was the maniacal laughing and crying. Tajomaru was maniacally laughing when he had the upper hand and was manipulating either the wife or the…
