  Wonderfully dark and unsettling until it kinda forgets what's scary after a while and decides to turns silly instead. Longlegs comes up a little short in the end, that's the long and short of it.

  This is what happens when you let young, ambitious Danes watch poetic-intellectualist French movies from the 60s and don't stop them before they get grand ideas.
  Conceptually, it IS quite interesting, though - it's just not clever enough to justify its own claims to sophistication. Well-acted and skillfully directed and edited - but ultimately pretentious.

  Very good, very intense, very gripping 2 hrs. 18 mins.

  Excellent direction by Gibson and generally good visual quality - too bad the movie gets scarred by those disgustingly ugly HD shots. Please, would filmmakers just stop including them in proper movies now? They do not lend a "kinetic feel" or "immediacy" to your movies!

  Grr. Now I've gone and spoiled the movie. I have to watch it again.
