The increasing demand for Halal products by Muslim consumers due to their religious obligation has created new services known as the Halal transportation services. These services are specially designed to meet the demand from the Halal manufacturers to maintain the integrity of their Halal products. However, the adoption of the halal transportation services in Malaysia is relatively low. By adopting the TOE framework, this study will try to identify the enablers influencing and barriers impeding the Halal manufacturers from adopting the Halal transportation services. Using the systematic sampling method, data was gathered from 140 participants of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2013. The paper explores the usefulness of analysing firms from the resource side rather than from the product side. In analogy to entry barriers and growth-share matrices, the concepts of resource position barrier and resource-product matrices are suggested. These tools are then used to highlight the new strategic options which naturally emerge from the resource perspective.

What gets measured in business is noticed and acted on. The importance of human resource management (HRM) to be noticed as a vital key to business success has been argued profusely by the HRM profession over the last three decades. While the importance of human resource (HR) measurement is not disputed by business managers, the search for meaningful generic HR metrics is like HRM's Holy Grail. The purpose of this research is to investigate the issues confronting a sample of business organisations concerning measurement issues. It examines the current measurement practices used and their HR measurement needs. Developing appropriate HR measures, in terms of adding value, allows organisations to refocus their resources for leverage. Inappropriate measures simply encourage inappropriate behaviours not in the long-term interests of the business. We know that HRM is less prepared than other business functions (like finance or management information systems) to quantify its impact on business performance. Our results suggest that HR metrics as the Holy Grail of HRM remain elusive. This research signals the importance of developing relevant and meaningful HR measurement models, while acknowledging that the actual metrics used (unlike accounting measures) may vary from business to business.

Mientras se sigue discutiendo la implementación de la estructura de Recursos, Descripción y Acceso (RDA) en los procesos de descripción bibliográfica, es importante conocer por qué surgieron, en su momento, las Reglas de Catalogación Angloamericanas (RCAA), qué tan funcionales han sido hasta la fecha y cómo el avance tecnológico ha afectado su uso; es decir, ¿se adaptan las RCAA al presente? Por otra parte, es necesario estar al tanto de los cambios que trae consigo RDA, qué aspectos justifican migrar de RCAA a este nuevo formato y qué tan adecuada está RDA a las necesidades actuales. En esta revisión también se abarcan algunas diferencias entre RCAA y RDA, y se muestran razones por las que se ha vuelto una necesidad implementar un nuevo código de catalogación. Al término de la lectura, se concluye que las RCAA han sido un sistema de descripción bibliográfica importante, pero que RDA representa el cambio necesario para mejorar el procesamiento técnico de la información y su recuperación.

While debate on the implementation of RDA in bibliographic description processes continues, it is important to know why AACR appeared, how functional they have been up to now, and how technological progress has affected their use; that is to say, can AACR adapt to the present? On the other hand, we must be aware of the changes brought by RDA, which aspects justify migrating from AACR to this new format and how adequate is RDA structure to current needs. In this review some of the differences between AACR and RDA are covered as well as the main reasons why it is necessary to implement a new cataloging code. By the end of the paper it is stated that AACR has been a very useful bibliographic description system but RDA represents the change required in order to improve the technical proccessing of information and its recovery rate.

Abstract. The Francis Creek area located at the Sybil graben in North Queensland, Australia, has some features of epithermal gold mineralization such as gold-bearing quartz vein and silica body hosted in rhyodacitic rocks of the Late Carboniferous Hells Gate Formation. In order to understand the nature of the paleo-hydrothermal activity in this area and to aid exploration for an economic gold deposit in this area, we carried out hydrothermal alteration mapping surrounding the veins and silica body, over an area of about 7 times 5 km2.We defined two alteration zones and inferred the center of hydrothermal activity. Fluid inclusion shows the boiling feature, and the microthermometry analysis resulted in the trapping temperature of 240°C and low salinity. This temperature is consistent with the formation temperature of clay mineral in the host rocks. On the basis of whole-rock composition, the silica body was identified as silicified rocks. Precious metal minerals such as electrum and acanthite coexist with sulfide minerals. Iodagylite was identified as a product of weathering. The sulfide minerals imply that the low-sulfidation epithermal gold mineralization occurred in the Francis Creek area.
