318 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. A Holy Hour of adoration testifies to the fact that the Jesus who died on the cross, is present in the Eucharist and reigns in Heaven, are identical. (Pope Pius XII) We tend to make plans for what is important to us. Please consider setting aside one hour for the one that loves you the most. Today is the day, join us following the 10:30 Mass for the St. Augustine Luau. Enjoy homecooked meals, our famous dessert tent, games for the children, entertainment, corn hole and knock out. Come and enjoy your day with fellow parishioners. The Day School and Preschool will hold their open houses from 11:30-1:00pm. stop in to see some of the exciting things the children will be doing this school year. Dont forget to get your raffle tickets with an opportunity to be the big winner of $5,000, the winner will be drawn around 5:00pm. Winner need not be present. The picnic T-shirts will be sold for only $8.00. There will be themed baskets raffled off for $1.00 each. Thank you to all who have put in time to help make this picnic special for our St. Augustine Community.
An anyone can do way to participate in the New Evangelization is to volunteer to help spread the faith through RCIA. Volunteers are needed to: Be a Prayer Partner (agree to pray for an RCIA Inquirer) Help provide refreshments (once is great!) Consider being a parish sponsor and/or Mass mentor To share your gifts in one of these ways, please call Karen at 330-745-0011 x 18. Thank you.

HOW DOES A PERSON BECOME CATHOLIC? Through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) or RCIC for children over the age of reason. The RCIA provides a nine-month opportunity to experience deeper conversion to the Lord, learn about Catholicism and what it means to be Catholic, and grow in relationship with other seekers and parishioners. If you have a non-Catholic spouse or fiance, neighbor, friend, co-worker or family member or even the cashier at your favorite store please prayerfully consider talking to him/her about possible participation. An Inquiry Night will be held on Monday, August 26 at 7:00 pm in the Rectory. Please talk to Karen or one of our parish priests if you have questions (330-7450011) or to refer someone for an appointment. Thank you.
Early Childhood Religion Classes will begin Sunday, September 15 during the 10:30 Mass. This class is offered to children ages three years old to completion of Kindergarten. Children must be potty trained. Religion class will be held in St. Augustine Preschool. To register, contact Renee Barker at 330-745-1080. (Insert Graphic 1602-0008.tif) Our Parish School of Religion (PSR) needs your help in the following areas; office, substitute teachers and hall monitors. Anyone interested in helping out this school year, please contact Renee Barker at 330-745-1080. PSR is offered to children starting in the first grade through eighth grade; classes are held at St. Augustine School beginning on Sunday, September 8 from 9-10:15am. in the SAC. If a child is going into the first grade, and not attending a Catholic School or was in a Catholic school and is no longer attending, you are able to register for PSR. If you have not received a registration form in the mail, or are interested in registering a new child/children, or would like to volunteer, please contact Renee Barker at 330745-1080. Cards Anyone? Join us Friday, September 6 as we play Euchre. Cards begin at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. A light meal will be provided. Beginners and experienced players are welcome to come and try a hand. Come and enjoy an evening of fellowship.
A "Caring and Sharing" session for those struggling with divorce, separation or widowhood will be held on Monday, August 26 from 7:30-9:00 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary's Convent Building, 1945 Portage Trail in Cuyahoga Falls. Marlene Maruna, a Licensed Independent Social Worker, will facilitate this session. This event is open at no charge to people of all faiths. Culture of Life: The next Culture of Life meeting will be held September 17 in the rectory following Mass and Benediction. Please lend your voice and heart in prayer and action.
