1. SCOPE
The scope of this method statement is to briefly and concisely cover suitable work
sequence during the application of anti-termite works on SS-007 & PIOB-007 of
buildings construction. Also to ensure safety during the process of anti-termite works for
Building Construction of Sulfur Recovery Unit (SRU) in Area A07 – EPC Package 2, at
Jazan Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Project (JIGCC), Saudi Arabia.
2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this method statement describes in the work procedure for Anti-Termite
Application for Buildings is to set guidelines and methodology to be followed while doing
application of anti-termite activity in accordance to project agreement and specifications.
3. REFERENCES
3.1 All design, engineering, materials and construction shall conform to the latest
requirements of local and international standards, local regulations and the
following reference documents. Latest edition at the time of contract award shall
be applicable.
3.2 When these reference documents contain conflicting requirements, the most
stringent requirements shall be applicable. In case of doubt, mandatory
requirements of SAUDI ARAMCO STANDARD such as SAES, SAMSS, SAEP
and SASD shall be prevail over project construction method statement, IFC
drawings and Project Specification. (if any) However any discrepancies shall be
brought to the attention of the company (SA).

5. RESPONSIBILITY:
5.1 Site Manager - They have the responsibility to establish and execute
Construction Plan and ensure full compliance to project safety and
requirements. Note that implementation of Construction Quality Plan apply to
all such as Construction Management, Field Engineering, Field Procurement,
Quality Personnel, etc.

drawings, and all the safety measures are implemented at site construction and
report to Construction manager civil.
5.3 Site Foreman - shall supervise closely the activities designated to him
ensuring that all instructions are followed and strictly adhered to, (this may
involve providing alternative access routes for moving Traffic with Traffic Signs
prior to commencing the work, and all safety procedures of the project are
strictly followed.
5.4 QC Engineer – responsible to ensure that all activities are carried out as per
QC requirements of the project.
5.5 HSE Manager – To provide the HSE advised to the construction team and
monitors the implementation of the HSE requirements within the construction
area per Project HSE procedure.
5.6 Safety Supervisor – To be present at all time during implementation of the
activity and monitor that the work is carried out in accordance with Project
safety procedures.

7. PROCEDURE:
7.1 GENERAL
This procedure describes the actual steps to be taken and sequence of events
necessary to enable satisfactory completion of each activity.
a. Ensure that all necessary IFC drawings, specification, approved procedures and
other documents associated with the anti-termite application are available before
and during the work activities.
b. Confirm and check the approved type of anti-termite materials and tools to be
used. Used anti-termite materials based on the requirements of Saudi Aramco (SA)
Specification.
c. Obtain proper relevant application of work permit.
d. Prior to anti-termite application, clean and remove all foreign materials and litigants
from concrete surface whereas, anti-termite is applicable or as per anti-termite
manufacturer recommendation prior to anti-termite activity.
e. Whereas, anti-termite application shall commence. Cleanse the area with clean
water for at least 24 hours prior to the application of anti-termite solutions or as per
manufacturer recommendation.
f. Whereas, if required coordination with all relevant parties who are required to
witness the procedure by method agreed on a project basis.
g. Use of BIFLEX TC (Pyrethroid Insecticide) as per SAES-M-100 General Section
2304.11 Protection against decay and termite and approved MAR # A07-ZA-E-

8. QA/QC
8.1 The QA/QC inspection of NSH shall carry out all inspection and testing related to anti-
termite application/work. All inspection and test activities shall be raise thru Request
for Inspection (RFI) as per compliance with schedule “Q” and approved ITP.

9.1 Hazard and Risk Assessment report is intended as a guide, which the company
uses for the purposes of attempting to reduce the possibility of accidents or ill
health occurring record.
9.2 Site supervisor shall check all personnel involved in the above activities and shall
follow the requirements of HSE plan.
9.3 Standard PPE & breathing apparatus is required for this task as per required in
MSDS. (if any)
9.4 Always check proper caution instruction for materials prior to starting the work.
9.5 Every effort shall be made to assure that employees can accomplish their
assigned scope of work safely.
9.7 Contractor/ Sub-contractor shall comply with the requirements for controlling
safety hazards associated with anti-termite application activities as per Saudi
Aramco Standards, Specification, Saudi Aramco General Instruction, Construction
Safety Manual and Manufacturer Recommendation.
