coach carter vs. stomp the yard

coach carter was the 'it' last season for me. one thing, its basketball. ooh, the sound of the friction of those sneakers against the court's ground. then there's this thing that gets to me about, you know, group, team thing, and working from scratch, being from the lowest in rank and shooting up and soaring high being on top breaking the tradition, going through tough and trying times, elements of perseverence, spirit, passion portrayed, interesting characters; yeah, those kinds. it never had to necessarily be about a group of boys je..it just so happens that most movies are about a group of guys..i am no sexist believe me. hehe.

this is antwon tanner..a.k.a worm. my dad knows him hehehe.. yeah..coach carter was on top of the list for last season's most replayed movie at home. of course, me alone watching heh..my dad didnt really like the idea of my younger siblings below zahid watching this movie for a 2nd time..but the whole family knows of my affair with this dude..oh, i mean, this movie. note: worm was not the lead actor.

and this season..yeah! stomp the yard! the choreog is so smart, neat and cantik okeh. it's like partly matured and male version of bring it on, and it's also, a hip hop dikir barat. serious. when they had to compete being a tie at the finals la. but there were some parts of the movies that i didnt really understand..nvm, the stepping and stomping made up for all of the slacks. i have agreed with mun that our fave some-sorta-army-yell-but-not-really-coz-they're-not-yelling-at-all would be "we're reppin' theta, theta..oo..oo..theta, theta, we're reppin' theta.." ;D nice move..and btw, this movie too, has the similar 'air' as in coach carter. you know, breaking the tradition, new people coming in with new ideas and principles, tough trying times, being challenged, hardwork, spirit and of course, lots of attitude...

oh! i'm sorry. i didnt meant to be rude. i forgot to introduce my new friend. this is columbus short a.k.a DJ. yeah. he is one of those "we're reppin' theta" guys. i love his attitude. oh, and the fact that he was convicted when he got into a fight the other team that was not satisfied with the fact that DJ's team won the bet for the 'stepping' in the first scene; which, his brother (chris brown who actually acted for only 2seconds and got over publicized for his 2nd acting, not to mention that he,) died; only because his lawyer couldn't even remember his name made it..urm..ok, fine, he's just a really cool and calm character. i don't know if i should recommend this to all..but urm..up to you.. *muka guilty* but those who appreciate all kinds of dance art..give this a try. i dare say you would be impressed. i was. oh, not to mention, there are morals and messages about brotherhood and how its good, and..urm..good..yeah..brotherhood is important. it's not about winning really. but the brotherhood. (that came out right thank god. hehe)

D.J, my dad have yet to be introduced to. but urm, other than the fact that DJ has a reputation and the legal status of being a convict, but hey, its not like he really did kill anyone. it was self defence. i swear! i was a witness. among every other millions of earthlings who watched that scene! oh, and he is smart, sweet, very..cool, i'm liking his attitude..oh well, i can go on and on with this..creative (see his ideas and moves!), hardworking (he worked as the college's gardener to pay for his college fees!) and i have to say here that he is bold and very very brave. (i'm proud of you..) may God bless him and give him hidayah.. :)

really, i'm just killing time :D cant sleep coz i've got to be up and ready to leave for a day-trip to KL in few minutes time..

listening to leigh nash "along the wall"

Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting

I'm through, with doubt,
There's nothing left for me to figure out,
I've paid a price, and i'll keep paying

I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should

LAP (law attachment programme) is fine. for now. well, basically, it's my first week, and the 1st day i joined my fellow comrades munibah and huda filing stuff. owh it was so so difficult and tiring; not to mention mind boggling and a lot of pressure! not. at least i got to read and peak into the summon, fine and the sale and purchase documents. that, is an experience. looking on the bright side, i guess the people wanted to be nice and shpw us that they dont have the heart to force us into slavery and forced labour. cool. and i'm not complaining. i'm actually looking forward to the next 2 weeks of my 'stay' there. oh, i'm doing my LAP at the District Council. it's true. my senior told me to know what you want to learn and get from the attachment program so you would know how to go about and what to do in case they dont know what to tell you to do, and even better, if you now what you want, and what to learn, you can demand and just ask for it; and you'll get to do what you want. that; would be my plan for next week. again, gotta call up my monsieur chief.
but you ah, everytime i call, lain topic!

my first week, as i said is fine. coz the second day, i was already on leave with an MC haha.
"2nd day dah tak datang..hebaat" -mun
"haih, baru sehari dah MC.." -ummi
abah gave the best comment,
"nak pegi keje hari ni? tak? ok." heh.

and the best thing was that my doctor easily, no hassle or further questions was asked, issued my MC. she is cool and nice. i havent met her before. you see, my dad works in UTM, so we got 2 clinics as the panel clinics. this one particular clinic is our family's favourite. Dr. Maimunah and friends. (ok, i added the 'and friends' coz i cant remember what was printed on the second half of the board)
but of all my trips to Dr. Maimunah, i have never had any meeting with this nice doc. i told my mom and she said, yeah, that doc's only in occassionally. fine. she really is nice. anyone knows Dr.Harlina Siraj? yeah, she's so like her! she was really friendly, nice and very chatty. best thing, she never made faces or gave away any facial expressions indicating her thoughts that i am one neurotic erratic teenage-patient. i like meeting up with doctors. who likes to chat with their patients. that, i have to add. you get to learn so much from them! well, i guess it's the same if we meet any other professionals. of course, theya re an expert in their field. duh.. but yeah, nice friendly doctor's shur makes your visit much more interesting and relaxing. but i have to make sure i go in alone. or my mom and dad would make faces telling me to stop asking so much questions and give desperate glances to each other which actually means
"drag her out!"
"no, you do it!"
"you la"
"you la"

haha.

btw, munibah and huda gave a thorough and in-detail briefing before i joined them at the DC. that there'se not much other than transferring papers from the old brown paper files into the new blue files, and that we get punch cards, that the people are often out of the office doing what they like and wherever they want to go coz they dun have much to do too, and that us interns go for brunch breaks from 1130-230, that 3.30-4.30 they'll be glued in front of the tv watching amarte asi (although initially they knew naught of the existence of the series but hooked to it thanks to the LAP) and that the guys in the office battles reramai playing WARCRAFT from 8-5. what a life eh? heh..

but i dare say that they shur gave me one great job and experience even only on my 1st day! fortunately, this tuan razali (who has a cute laugh which makes mun n huda giggle non-stop; which forces me to join them.lol.), a nice dude who always tells us to "jgn pressure2! relax je.." gave us a very important-legal-unit people job. we have to translate the ammendments to several By-Laws which have not been revised nor reviewed since 1976! its 2007! i got to deal with Food Handlers and Election Advertisement By-Laws. hehe..i dare say i'm an expert on those two matters now. for the JB state la.seriously. but whoa, doing the translating job shur got me whacked in the head how i so need to brush up n polish my english. oh wait, actually, its not so much about english. its the literature of law. ur right la. oh god. but seriously, i love the Food Handlers By-Laws. it is so detailed! if all the Food handlers in Malaysia abide by the laws, i swear i wouldnt mind eating anywhere in any warong kedai or what ever! i really believe i should find a job in the Food Handling Department. i would love to go around Mesia travel around inspecting shops, stalls, restaurants and all..we have the law, i have my 'cerewet+fussy-ness' and i have my accomplice; my very own rating officer hehhe..mana kamu.. oh, not forgetting, i have Suraiya who can be the accompanying dietition-cum-food critic. oh, i see a prospering business in future!
get this, one of the provisions provided that food handlers must:
- not expel mucous from the nose unto the food
- not wipe their hands on their clothes
- have certified certificates issued by a medical health officer to approve them not only to be allowed to engage themselves in food preparation, but even to just sell the food!
- do not place or store or bring food in or from places like privy closet, places used for sleeping purposes (they shud include where conducts of promiscuity and lewdness have taken place too. remind me to voice this out tomorrow)

and many more. believe me, if every food handlers follow these rules, Malaysia can get a place in the Guiness World Record for providing healthy clean food for its people. and hey, we might not even ever see lalat and the kind ever again!

oh well, mun and i have promised ourselves to grab the 1st copy of the By-laws once printed, published, gazetted and all so we'd get to show it off to our grandchildren and great-grandchildren. a proof that we have been a contributing law student-cum-civilised citizen to the legal system in our beloved independent country. oh, and abah insisted that we should demand payment for doing such an important job. pffft..i so wish. but we were awal2 told that we won't get any payment. darn it.

i gtg. expecting a phone call..layter

i have a drama playing in my head that i get warded, and they discovered that a baby alien was planted in me and i get to be sent off outside the world, off to whichever planet i was destined to reside in then onwards and never set my eyes on the world. at least, not for a while. i shall wait for my hero to come save me. i hope he won't be taking too long again..tralalala,this, is 21st century's very own fairy tale. lol. and hey, who knows, i myte get to meet out-of-the-world muslim scholars of their very own...they're all muslims ryte? i mean, only man deviates from the fitrah ryte?

here's something to share..people in KL, do go and then share la with us who couldnt make it..(one of the reasons why i love KL..)

i have no idea where and how to begin, but here goes.

i hitched a ride back to my college at dawn walking back from my late night preparation meeting in a police car! yeah i did! oh it was cool. i had no idea what got into my head at that time. though some would say it's safer to go for the ride than walk alone in the dark around my campus all the way to my college; many others would say, 'even if it's a police car, you should still be careful'. well, my aunt blurted that out anyways. (my dad just do the usual 'glance at my mom and geleng kepala' je la. lol) i was walking along the road with my friend who is staying at a nearer college to our meeting place as compared to mine and we spotted a police car. making my own assumption from what i was seeing, the police car was tailing a foreigner's car and requested upon checking his pasport or sumthing, and so... with encouragement and instigation by my dear friend, so i chased the car (literally i did okay!) and i just blurted it all out. "pakcik, saya nak minta tumpang balik kolej saya bole. (point to my college high up on the hill) jauh saya nak jalan sorang2.dah la gelap..*no eyelashes-batting done. serious" and i got in :D later when i got back in my room only did it cross my mind that i was really lucky te police officers didn't just ignore me and drove off beng in fear that i might just be an annoying menacing wandering spirit of the dawn on the mission to get back at police officers in police cars. hardy-har-har. oh well, i shur am thankful that i experienced the ride without having to get arrested or get myself in trouble let alone be in hadcuffs..

oh, and speaking of rides, i got 2 more free taxi rides back to my college! thank you God for creating those nice pakciks with big hearts. other than the free rides, i got discounts. good enough if you ask me. i shall from now onwards celebrate the 'Hari Peringatan dan Penghargaan Warga Pemandu Teksi Sedunia'. only those who helped me and those potential right+good deeds doers are in the list tobe remembered and celebrated. rapists, robbers, muggers, and all other many categories of culprits, criminals and evil-opportunity grabbers are off the list!

*************************************************

at this point of time in life, i can say that i have done so many many crazy, i repeat, crazy, outrageous, quixotic simply crazy things i have never imagined i would ever do. owh. impulsive.erratic.and all that.

U, cheer quick, it may be that ur iron lady's on her way back. wait a little bit more kay..

but it was fun. every little thing about it all.. i still am very much surprised and shocked with myself too. i leant and discovered new things, new friends, met new strangers who either later became friends or just remain as strangers; tried new things, went to new places and so many more!these are all going into my time capsule.. :)

playing: changes- butterfly boucher

tired.is.the.word. a bit less than 5 hours ago i reached home. home for the 3 months break from campus life. *sigh*
