i think it's interesting how the show uses house's physical pain as a manifestation of his emotional pain, especially in the context of when wilson is involved.
like we see house's guilt exhibited in his shoulder pain due to the trouble wilson faces for defending him against tritter. cuddy clocks it with calling it a "fight with the wife" ( s3e08 "whac-a-mole" ):
and, the more famously known scene i think, is in s6e10 "wilson" where house rubs his thigh, presumably due to the pain, when wilson asks house to be there with him at the liver operation:
and later in that same season ( s6e21 "baggage" ) when house shows up at dr. nolan's office having more pronounced leg pain due to wilson asking him to move out:
and lastly, in s8e19 "the c-word," after the whole chemotherapy, the emotional turmoil ranging from realizing that they're everything they need to each other, to wilson stubbornly affirming that he'd rather die in house's apartment, with house's presence alone, than to die in a hospital, house's leg hurts again.
