    This one kind of bridges the gap between Deranged and Silent Night, Deadly Night. 

    A bridge probably wasn’t needed and this doesn’t reach the heights either of those do, but it’s not without charm. There was only a brief period in time where they made movies that feel like this and I love it.

    Continuing my quest to listen to every commentary recorded for Dawn. It’s remarkable, but even with how many I’ve listened to at this point, none of them are duds. This one had Michael Gornick, Tom Dubensky (assistant camera), and Lee Karr (that fantastic Making of Day of the Dead book).

    The only thing that the movies in this series can seem to agree on is that the original incident occurred on August 18, 1973. For as long as I’ve loved this movie, I don’t think I’ve ever watched it on this date. 

    Anyway, it’s still probably the most perfect example of a horror movie that I can think of. There aren’t many movies that still give me the same feeling they did when I first saw them as a young person.…
