a jumble of things

it's the end of my 2nd week in CUCMS. my days have been full sampai malam.

monday: lectures sampai tengahari, then PBL and usrah in the evening.

tuesday: visit to Air Disaster Unit KLIA in the morning followed by a lecture with Prof Ikram. malam, i went to Achik's house in Cheras.

wednesday: lectures sampai tengahari. malam teman aishah gi meeting.

thursday: no classes in the morning so pergi do laundry at timah's house which is a 10-min walk away then another lecture in the evening. then malam ada usrah.

friday: lectures until tengahari then reflection session then ptg ada clinical correlation on anemia. tonight i'm gonna go watch a theatre titled "Kanvas" produced by the students here (dlm bz blaja n completing assignments, sempat jgk buat drama).

even though i have to attend lectures whilst my friends are out and about sightseeing and touring malaysia and overseas, i'm very glad that i'm here in CUCMS. i like getting the most benefit out of my days. otherwise i would have lazed about and not achieving much which would be detrimental to my self-esteem.

the people here are nice and colourful. i jumpa balik someone who remembered me from program Xrek in 2000. bagus jugak mencapap sometimes, at least people remember u, hehe.

although i don't get to jalan2 that much, my days have been interesting with all the different people i've met or gotten re-acquainted with.

sometimes when you have a gut feeling about something, it's most probably true.

for example, when i saw mdm nursakinah dzulkifley's name in the schedule, i thought that she might be someone that i know. when i saw her in class, i had a feeling that she was kakyung's friend and mak's friend's daughter. i messaged kakyung but she didn't reply. then while mdm sakinah was going around the class, she came up to me and asked if i was zainab's sister. sah, she was the person i thot she was. she said that she remembered me because i got my finger trapped in a door during one of the STC's in UK. wow, she remembered that. malu jeh.

today, the results for the Final Professional exams came out. Alhamdulillah everyone passed, 1 is a candidate for distinction and only 1 person has to resit the paper. congrats to the new doctors!

what i like most about the melaka trip was the muhasabah and sharing sessions.

i was able to get re-acquainted with dr mai, an O&G specialist who shared her motivational stories of growing up in a poor family and becoming independent at a very young age. how she is where she is now because she refered to Allah for everything no matter how small the thing is.

day 3

its already my 3rd day here.

the schedule seems packed with lectures but in actual fact the lectures finish much2 earlier so we have some free time to ourselves. it seems like winter in the tropics here. the lecture halls are extremely cold. i didn't bring a sweater here jd menggigil kesejukan kat sini.

my friend said that the CUCMS building was supposed to be a mall. that's why the auditorium where we have our lectures is designed like a cinema. the seats dont have tables and theres a place to put drinks. patutlah the chairs can be rocked back and forth. unfortunately for me, its so conducive for sleep.. hehe.

today Dr Ikram talked on how to respond to a disaster and then a bit on the global positioning system (GPS). jap lagi nak g jalan2 :) yesterday dah pergi Alamanda. today nak g IKEA kot. my main goal during these electives is to meet up with as many friends and relatives as possible. i rarely get to see many people since i entered med school.

it has been 2 days in a row that i had dinner kat rumah orang. on monday azza's mom made a wonderful bread pudding with muffins for dessert. yesterday, timah invited us over and we had a yummy dinner. tonight i wanna go to paklang's house. cemane lah nak get into shape for the field practical nnt... hehe.

im typing this from CUCMS.

today's the 1st day of the disaster and relief medicine course that me and 4 other friends are taking here. it hasn't been easy telling my friends and reltives what we're doing here. senang cakap buat praktikal or elective je. panjang pulak kalau kene explain.

we have to take the course with the heterogenous 2nd year CUCMS students. ada macam2 umur from as young as 21 to 25.

the schedule isnt packed and we have some free time. tapi kene buat PBL and clinical correlation jugak. let's see how these 4 weeks go. i can't wait for the 2-day retreat during the 3rd week. i've always loved to hear lectures from Prof Latif and all the CUCMS lecturers. jealous kat the students here who get them as lecturers.

yesterday i went with timah to wardah's house to see her twin boys. there i met MJ, MA, hamnah and many more. best jgk dok bangi nih. rumah sewa timah pun amat best. fully furnished with tv and fridge.

back from melaka

am in kuantan now. just came back from melaka yesterday evening. had loads of fun. very tired. lack of stamina.

am skipping a few minutes from the free of charge 'vertigo course' i have today.

going to bangi this evening.

then start disaster and relief medicine course in CUCMS on monday inshaAllah.

the final 4th year exams

tomorrow and the day after i have my exams. penat dah seminggu study.

alhamdulillah i have cool study mates. tapi pantang ade peluang nak bukak cerita, mula lah berbual then baru sambung balik. gilir2 tidur and berjaga. yang menjadi mangsa is my room and bed. penuh ngan crumbs. kene blaja jd tolerant.

i cant wait for my after-exams plans. banyak sangat benda to look forward to.

Melaka. CUCMS. HUKM. kenduri kahwin. meeting up with friends. friends' babies. spending time with family.
