  "Rebellion", the third movie in the Madoka Magica series, was an emotional, yet embarrassing watch for me. I do not watch anime frequently, and even less do I watch magic girl anime, but I was convinced to watch this series by peer pressure and I do not regret having spent my time on it. I watched the first two movies in the series, "Beginnings" and "Eternal" in one sitting, and this film equaled that experience.

  At around 12:52, a shot in which the police escort/force a man down stairs into the crowd below. The camera sits high above the crowd and man and stares down. The crowd seems to blend into one mass thanks to the distance. The whole scene is in focus, likely the work of a wide angle lens. The focus of the image highlights the reality of the situation, but because everything is in focus, nothing is. The frame seems to be just barely underexposed, as all the people seem to come out of an black abyss below.
