  I can see how this cost $320 million, but what I cannot figure out is why? There just wasn't a reason to spend that much money on this. It's uncreative and dull without being boring, the visual effects are very impressive but the cinematography is bland (although not nearly as bad as The Gray Man), and the characters are all just so cliche.   I find the Looney Tunes more effective in smaller doses and I probably wasn't in the best mood for this, but it was a solid Looney Tune with some classic Looney Tunes hijinks.

  the first half of the movie feels like it is missing multiple scenes and does such a terrible job of conveying any sort of passage of time that it completely ruins any sort of pacing, tone or tension that might have been there otherwise

  Although it's not as structurally impeccable as Fellowship of the Ring, it has so many incredible individual moments and sequences, from the lighting of the beacons to the Ride of the Rohirrim to the last stand of Men to several dozen others, that I can't help but like it the most.
