SUPERVISOR DAILY ACTIVITIES

Background and Purpose of the document


The purpose of this document is to ensure the expectations of the office management team from the site supervisors
regarding the operating structure, communication, supervision (both operational and safety), shift handovers, and reporting are clear

Prior to morning rig calls


Check Remarks
• EDM report shall include a summary report of HSE activities and 24 hrs HSE daily plan and shall
be completed by 06:00 and QA/QC done by the DSV before sending it - operations permitting .
• DSV shall make a morning walkabout of the site to view operational progress and workplace
condition. He shall check well control readiness, housekeeping, Driller's handover, tallies … etc.
• The Toolpusher and Night Toolpusher should complete their morning handover and discuss/brief
DSV any significant HSE and operational events and issues (stop cards raised, TRIC cards ...)
• One of the Senior Supervisors shall conduct a pre-tour briefing with the crew in the following manner:
• All crew members should be included and given clear guidance of what is expected from them
• Go through the critical events from the previous shift and highlight upcoming operations and
activities for that shift and the hazards and risks associated with those operations and activities
• The HSE plan for the day and Playsafe and incentive status for the day
• Current well status and BOP & wellhead configuration should be drawn up on whiteboard.
• Directional well plot should be displayed on the wall and updated.
• Check and update emergency response board as required.

Post morning call

• Hold morning meeting with senior supervisors on the rig to discuss:


• Feedback from office team on any change of programme or planned activity
• Operations for the day
• 7 day lookahead
• Resources required
• Maintenance activity and permits required
• HSE issues raised, drills, STOP tours planned, ROHM, HOHM etc.
• PTW and step outs in place
• Discuss any non routine activities.
• After Action review on past operation to capture any learnings for the future
• Agree on Written Work Instructions for the coming day or coming section
• Actively and visibly supervise activities
• Encourage coaching at all levels of supervision on site
• Ensure Driller has detailed signed off work instruction for his shift
• Review journey management and
• Ensure Vehicle checklists are filled in acurately and complete
• Review compliance with MOPO.
• QA/QC Playsafe.
• Update and display time/depth curve where appropriate
• Review outstanding action list for unit (FST actions)
• Review compliance with contractor inspections and HSE drill schedule
• Ensure Driller daily check list is filled in accurately and complete
• Maintain active handover file for hitch

Evening handover

• TP/night TP conduct handover prior to pre tour briefing. This should be documented.
• DSV will discuss planned programme of activities with night TP, give standing instructions
• Conduct joint evening walkabout
• Senior Supervisors conduct a pre-tour briefing with the crew before they start work, this
will take the same format as the morning briefing previously discussed.

Other periodic activities

• Monthly camp inspections (1 per month)


• Weekly safety meeting with catering crew
• Camp fire drills, health checks (2 per month)
• Mast inspection (1 per week)
• Review Rig crew training matrix with contractor TP (1 per month)
• Review IWCF certification of supervisory staff (quarterly)
• Maintain Rig KPI's (1 per month)
• Always hold positive handover with back to back, unless step out granted by SWE
• Audit: PTW, man riding, sling and journey management registers (2 per month)
• Quarterly Health Check (1 per 3 months)
• Conduct strip drills at appropriate intervals, determined by competence levels, well status,
and maintain record sheet.
• Conduct evacuation drills
• Witness BOP pressure and function tests.
• Witness completion pressure tests and sign off on pressure graphs
• Quarterly Health Check (1 per 3 months)
