Minipost from England

Today I received a little damaged parcel from England.
My first tought was "What is that?"
It was a little gift from my friend Kath (yes I write also to no mini people).
In the parcel was the 2. issue of the "Victorian Dolls' House Collector" together with a dining room display cabinet and a classic gilt-framed mirror.
You can compared this collection with the "delprado" collection. But here you can only collect furniture and accessories.

Here is the link for the collection:

http://www.dollshousecollector.com/

Last year I made several parfum bottles (all of them are in plastic boxes at the moment). Maybe I can paint the cabinet write and decorate it with the bottles (because in the cabinet are little mirrors...perfect for a shop).
And the mirror? Maybe for my French house, or my Dutch house.......

Kath thank you very much for the great present. I love it.
Hug & Kisses to you

Country kitchen rack part 2

Today I will put my country rack into my Buttercup dollshouse. Normal (metall) canisters are to heavy for my paper rack so I decided to make some canisters from paper.

I made these canisters from paper.

Here you can find the pattern:

http://lasminisdepilar.blogspot.com/search/label/Tutoriales%3A%20Plantillas

I used little bird houses for my canisters. Here you can find them:

Country Rooster Kitchen Rack

So here is my next little workshop. Today I made a little kitchen rack for my Buttercup dollshouse.
On the first photo you can see the material which you need for the rack.
I like to work with normal "things" which you can find in your household.
The Buttercup dollshouse is really small so I used a lid from a surprise egg of course you can use any oval form for your rack.

I cut 3 stripes from the postcard (each 3 mm wide) and glued them around the oval form (see photo).
Than I punched 4 little roosters also from the postcard (the number of roosters depends about the size of your oval form. You have to try it.)
Glue them on the paper stripe.

Take a little bit of wire and put them into one button (and made from both "ends" one - see photo.
I am not sure how I can describe this in English. Sorry).
My one is about 2,5 cm long.

Than put the wire into the second button and repeat it.
Glue one of the button on the top of your rack.
Make 4 little hooks from the wire and glue them.

I painted my rack with black emaile paint so it looks like a metall rack.
Tip: I glued my one in a little box so you have both hands "free".

New Minis for the Buttercup bedroom

So I have some new minis for my Buttercup bedroom. O.k. I have done nearly nothing.
The mirror is an old one by delprado (I added only some green colour)
the little laundry bag was a swap gift (I changed only the colour of the thread and put some paper in it)
I put some paint in the chamber pot (black tea is also o.k. but i am a coffee drinker)
the little picture is from Sonya's letter (last week). I made only a frame..I used some matches
the shirts were also a swap gift by Bärbel
So today I will search for some white fabric (I found only blue and pink but my dolls are to old for such towels..) I will add them next the bowl from Birmingham...

I wish everyone a nice sunny sunday

Step by step carpet workshop

This is a photo of the new carpet. I have also a blue/white carpet in my real house (yes I am an IKEA fan). This is a little step-by-step carpet workshop.
Sorry for the wrong order of the pictures!!! I promise you the next workshop is better!!!

Than I cut the ends of the ribbons. You need not a lot of canvas fabric (my one was only about 2 cm wide). I removed some threads (so you produce the "fringes). After that I glued the carpet on the fringes. From the rest of my jute ribbon I made a decorative drawstring (I bound 3 threads of my ribbon) and glued it on the carpet (you can see it on the last picture).

The carpet is nearly finished......the best is to put a second bag on the carpet and put some heavy bottles on the bag. So you have a flat carpet. Remove the bags (the Tacky glue must be dry!!!)

I cut my ribbon in smal pieces (one piece is about 8 cm - it depends about the space of the room). I glued the ribbon on a plastic bag (I work a lot with toothpicks)...

Material for the carpet:
jute ribbon (I found this one in my local craft shop and paid € 1,50 for 1,5 m)
you can also use other ribbon or a fine drawstring
Tacky Glue
brown or white canvas
scissors
plastik bag
toothpick

A carpet for my Buttercup dollshouse

Today I made a new carpet for my bedroom in the Buttercup dollshouse. The new blue/white carpet harmonizes better with the blue bed.
I put the old one into the living room.
Tomorrow I will post a little carpet workshop.

Dinnerware from Birmingham

So I am back from Birmingham/England and here are some photos of my minis which I bought at the dollshouse fair:
I tried to find something special for my new project the Dutch canal dollshouse and found these plates, cups and the little pitcher made by Victoria Fasken.

http://www.britishminiatures.co.uk/index.php?option=com_sobi2&sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=18&sobi2Id=141&Itemid=122

She painted a Dutch woman and a man on the dinnerware. I was totally crazy when I found it – wow an English mini with a Dutch motif!

Today I put everything in my kitchen cabinet.

Maybe I will buy also some of her containers......o.k. at the moment my purse is empty so I have to wait a little bit.

Tomorrow I will post more of my new minis from Birmingham.

Minis from Birmingham part 2

I love roses in 1/1 but also in mini. At the fair I found these lovely roses for me friend Bärbel. The hand slipcasted cereamics are made by Nikki Nakki Nu.

Post from Italy

So I am back from England and I received a wonderful swap from Sonya/Italy.
Thank you so much Sonja for this great minis! I received some water decals (I will try it because I have never done it before). Maybe I can use also the little picture of the house (as a picture or I can make a little tray).

Wonderful kitchen canisters! So my dolls can find their food better now. Their favorite is the biscuit canister because all of them love sweets, muffins & co. The other two canisters are also lovely especially with the little roosters. In my buttercup kitchen is also a rooster border!

A tulip in a can and some food for grandma (so she has not to carry the heavy cans). In my buttercup dollshouse is the whole year spring! My favorite time (o.k. I also love autumn).

Pillows for grandpas bed (haha I couldn't find my one in my mini chaos). I hope grandpa can sleep better now!

A rooster doormat, muffins & co. for grandma (or for the biscuit canister) and a little rooster tray.

And a little bag for my mobile phone with a little cute chicken!!!

Sonja I love your swap so much I am really overwhelmed.

Mille grazie! Ti mando mille baci.

Bedroom Buttercup

So here are some photos of my Buttercup bedroom. I will put some new white wallpaper about the bed (as you can see I have done a mistake with the wallpaper and now the "old" wallppaer is empty..that's typical for me). I will take some photos of my dolls and put them on the new wallpaper. I added also the laundry basket in the Buttercup (my first idea was to put the basket in the Dutch canal house)and also the shoe rack (yes the rack was 0,5 cm to big for the floor). So now it is a rack for shirts and co.
Last year I bought the decorated table on a dollshouse fair in Arnhem. Here is a little list of minis which I will make for the bedroom:
a table lamp
books
new underwear for grandpa
slippers
alarm-clock
photos & pictures
curtain & curtain pole
more shirts for the rack
pillows
and these minis are on my shopping list:
false teeth
chamber pot
glasses

A saddle for my Dutch canal house

This week I met my friend Bärbel and she gave me this fantastic sattle! Some months ago I spoke with her. I informed her that I have problems to find a really nice saddle for my Dutch canal house. At the moment she makes a lot of saddles and shoes for the German dollshouse fair 1zu12 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. So if someone is interested to meet me you can find me at her sales stall. Her name is Bärbel Epping. It would be nice to meet some of you.

Shoe rack

For this little shoe rack you need some toothpicks and a wooden strip.
I made this instruction for the German dollshouse magazin 1zu12 some years ago.
Resin boots by Dollshouse Emporium (I used some old coffee for the dirt....)..and the leather boots are made by my friend Bärbel Epping.
I saw this original rack in an IKEA catalogue.

Here is a printie link for shoe polish and a shoe box:

and here you can find more nice printies:

Every month you find here some new printies (all of them are free of charge) because it is the homepage of a Dutch dollshouse magazine. The name of the magazine is Dolls House Nederland.

A carpet for my Buttercup

Today I made a little carpet for my Buttercup bedroom. It looks a little bit like a IKEA carpet.
