Sherlock & Co's Final Problem

right, so ive been thinking about the final problem. with them dropping more and more Moriarty references in S&Co, its not out of the realm of possibility that its gonna happen sooner than later.

Now, there two things that could happen, one worse than the other:

1: Sherlock falls. This is canon accurate. We hear John lose his fucking marbles again. He loses someone so important again.

(His dad, his comrades, Mary and now Sherlock)

2, the objectively worse scenario: John falls. We hear Sherlock descent into madness as he tries to retrieve his best friend. His- his best friend. We hear Mariana trying to get him to submit to grieve. To close the case. But Sherlock can't. He spends forever searching for John. And when he finds him, hes simply dead.

I repeat: we hear Sherlock bloody Holmes coming to terms with the fact that his best friend is dead.

Also! John has already fallen in water and nearly drowned (Creeping Man i think) before. And he got shot (Dancing Men). So uh.

Foreshadowing perhaps?
